Something New in the Pews
With heartfelt gratitude, the Children’s Education team acknowledges the gift from the Debbie MacFarland Corrigan Fund that enabled us to supply the worship resource entitled, “A Children’s Guide to Worship.” This beautiful book (also known as the “mouse” book,) which was introduced during our Teaching Service last Sunday, will remain in our pews for parents and children to use together during worship. We encourage you to share your gratitude with Bob and Gail MacFarland for their continued dedication to the children of this church.

Grace Place
On Friday, February 16, Rich Ludwig (a regular member of Grace Place) will share his interest and expertise in Dutch Oven cooking. Come learn about some history, the uses of the Dutch Oven and check out some recipes. Please join us for this informative and fun program. Feel free to come at 10:30 am and join your Grace Place friends in playing some favorite games, like Rummikub and Scrabble, or working on a jigsaw puzzle. Lunch is served at noon and the program will begin at 12:45 pm. This is a friendly community and we hope you will join us and bring a friend!

Adult Education – Lentflix!
Your Adult Education Team brings something new to the Lenten table this year with a Friday night film series showcasing themes of challenge, transformation and redemption. Join us at 5:45 pm for pizza followed by “flicks.” Please note: while films chosen are rated G - PG-13, most are best suited for adult audiences.  Parental discretion is advised.  Click here for a schedule of the film series starting on February 16.

Telling our Faith Stories - What does it mean to be spiritual? Religious?  Is spirituality simply whatever religion is not? How have we come to define ourselves as Christian? Were/are there members of our families and communities that have helped us in that journey?  On February 18, our next adult education series begins with a look at family systems.  We’ll consider our own spiritual/religious inheritances and how we come to an understanding of our Christian identity.  Led by Pastor Judy with guest speaker Dr. Carl Yusavitz to open the series.  Click here to learn more.

Bible Study with Cedar Park
The Grace and Cedar Park congregations will come together again this Lent for Bible study. Pastors Sandy Hull and Janel Dixon will lead us on a journey through Paul’s second letter to Timothy. This will take place on Wednesday evenings, February 21-March 28, at 7:00 pm at Cedar Park Presbyterian Church, 7740 Limekiln Pike, Philadelphia (about 10 minutes from Grace).

Friends and Family CPR/AED Training will be held on Saturday morning, March 3 and repeated Saturday, March 24.  Each session runs from 9:00 am–12:00 pm in the Elephant Room.   The training is provided by Abington Hospital’s Community Health services and the cost is $25.00 per person.  Although this program is not certified by the American Heart Association, it covers the same material and skills teaching, making it ideal CPR training for non-health professionals.  Maximum participants are 12 per class.  If interested, please contact Chris Hoyler at 215-576-1404 or chrishoyler@verizon.net.

Wellspring’s Saturday Breakfast Ministry
A big THANK YOU to all who have supported the ministry of Wellspring by donating winter clothing in January.  Many will benefit from the generosity of our members and friends.
And many thanks to the many volunteers who have helped donate their time at Wellspring.  Our next opportunity for volunteers is on Saturday, March 3. Interested in helping cook, serve breakfast and distribute clothing, toiletries and snacks for up to 80 needy guests?  This shelter ministry at Old First UCC in Philadelphia supports hunger relief efforts by providing a place for guests to enjoy a hot breakfast and fellowship. Guests are also offered the opportunity to select clothing, snacks and toiletries from the clothing cupboard each Saturday.

To join the group (volunteers must be 14yrs or older), add your name to the sign-up sheet located on the bulletin board across from the church office. For more information, please call the church office at 215-887-6117.

Holy Week at Grace
Each weekday morning from March 26-30, a quiet, contemplative service will be offered in the Chapel from 7:00 – 7:30 am.

On Maundy Thursday, March 29, we will commemorate the night of the Last Supper and Jesus’ arrest as we worship at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. The Chancel Choir will be singing and we will gather at the Lord’s Table.

On Good Friday, March 30, there will be two opportunities for worship as we solemnly give thanks for Jesus’ redeeming death. The Jenkintown Ministerium will host a service at noon in the auditorium at Rydal Park, and we will gather in the sanctuary at 7:30 pm.

Lend a Lenten Hand
What if for Lent this year, instead of giving something up, you take on something NEW? The children’s Ed Team is in great need of Shepherds and Station Leaders to finish out the rest of the program year. Commit to 1 week or 4 weeks, remembering that your participation directly benefits the children of Grace. Sign up on the bulletin board or online at bit.ly/gracesundayschoolquestions contact khudson@gracejenkintown.org.

Lost and Found
Wondering where that long- lost umbrella or glove may be hiding?  Perhaps it was left behind at Grace.  At the end of February items in the lost and found bin at church will be donated or discarded.  The bin is in the coat closet between the Chapel and Palmer Room.  Please take a look if you think something in there may belong to you!

Men’s Retreat
Men, don’t forget!  The Men’s Retreat is March 9th, 10th, and 11th.  This year the retreat is at a new location – the Refreshing Mountain resort in Lancaster, PA.  Tucked in the picturesque woods of Pennsylvania, Refreshing Mountain is a Christian-based retreat and “adventure” center.  Similar to past retreats, the weekend will include fun, fellowship, and specific faith-focused topics to explore.  In addition, participants will have the option to participate in many of the adventure activities that Refreshing Mountain offers, including nature hikes, campfires, and high rope ziplines!  Click here for more details..  Cost for the weekend is $200.  First-timer cost is only $100.  Saturday-only is available for $50.  Full and partial scholarships are available.  Please use the Sign Up sheet on the Bulletin Board to register.
