February 1, 2018
On Friday, February 2, Grace member Ruth Fuelleborn will once again lead us in "planting" narcissus (paper whites) bulbs in containers to take home and grow. Instructions will be available for anyone not familiar with the process. It's not too early to start to think about spring! Feel free to come at 10:30 am and join your Grace Place friends in playing some favorite games, like Rummikub and Scrabble, or working on a jigsaw puzzle. Lunch is served at noon and the program will begin at 12:45 pm. This is a friendly community and we hope you will join us and bring a friend!

Your Adult Education Team brings something new to the Lenten table this year with a Friday night film series showcasing themes of challenge, transformation and redemption. Join us at 5:45 pm for pizza followed by “flicks.” Please note: while films chosen are rated G - PG-13, most are best suited for adult audiences. Parental discretion is advised. Click here for a schedule of the film series starting on February 16.
Telling our Faith Stories - What does it mean to be spiritual? Religious? Is spirituality simply whatever religion is not? How have we come to define ourselves as Christian? Were/are there members of our families and communities that have helped us in that journey? On February 18, our next adult education series begins with a look at family systems. We’ll consider our own spiritual/religious inheritances and how we come to an understanding of our Christian identity. Led by Pastor Judy with guest speaker Dr. Carl Yusavitz to open the series. Valentine's Day Cards - New Designs Available Now!
For the sixth year, Grace will be providing the opportunity to support the Art Studio at Beacon and the weekly creative writing workshops held at the Hackett Elementary School in Kensington, by offering Valentine's Day cards for $5.00 each. Your gift enables Beacon to offer quality programming to underserved children, build relationships among new neighbors, and continue to create a safe space for people to explore faith in worship. Look for them at Church on Sunday from January 21 through February 8, or contact Donna Jones (email@example.com or 215 379 5457).
Kerith Gabriel has taken a position as Editor-in-Chief of Philadelphia Weekly's print and digital holdings which has made it necessary for him to conclude his relationship with Grace. As we search for his replacement, there will be no February newsletter and the Vista will resume in March.
Think Spring! – Flowers in Bloom
The following dates are available to dedicate the Sunday morning flowers in honor or memory of a special person or occasion: March 11, April 15 and 22. Please add your name to any open slot on the flower chart on the hallway bulletin board, or contact the church office to see if your date is open. The church office will send a reminder and request the specifics for dedication listing in the bulletin.
Music Ministry Task Force
In the Fall, a Music Task Force was commissioned to get a sense of a desired direction for our music program. This is the first step in seeking a new Music Director at Grace. Click here to read a summary report.

Lost and Found
Wondering where that long lost umbrella or glove may be hiding? Perhaps it was left behind at Grace. At the end of February items in the lost and found bin at church will be donated or discarded. There is a basket in the coat closet between the Chapel and Palmer Room. Please take a look if you think something in there may belong to you!
