“Isaiah 9:2-7 is a well-known oracle… that uses four royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Join us for Adult Ed each Sunday during Advent (November 27 – December 18) to explore each of these titles; how people understood them then; how Jesus did or did not fulfill each; and how Christians understand Jesus to represent each title. Led by Pastor Judy at 9:30 in the Palmer Room.
All children of Sunday school age will begin the morning in worship every Sunday. Please bring your children with you to the sanctuary, where they can sit with their Sunday school groups (Apples, Fish, Bread or Grapes). Shepherds will be on hand to greet your children, sit with them, assist them with worship and lead them out of the sanctuary to their stations following the Children’s Message. As usual, nursery care will be provided from 8:15 to 11:30 for infants to 2, and the 2/3 year old class will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 in the Lion room.
Turkey Basket Challenge
As we enter the Advent Season let us remember those among us who are hunger and give generously. Thanks to SHARE, who gets donated food and lower prices, The Presbytery of Philadelphia will be able to provide baskets for both Thanksgiving and Christmas to each of 18 Care Closets in our Presbytery and our part in this is to help fund the project. These baskets (boxes) go to families experiencing food insecurity.
Each box costs $30 and contains a fresh turkey, stuffing mix, canned vegetables, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, oranges, apples, rolls and dessert. There is enough for a family of 5 with leftovers for 2 or 3 days.
How can you help?
Make a $30 check out to Grace Presbyterian Church and write Turkey Basket on the memo line. Donations will be accepted until December 18. Please give thankfully and generously. Know that when you give to these families, you are giving to the Lord. Invite Him to your table and be blessed.
