Grace Presbyterian Church

Children's Ministry

At Grace Presbyterian Church, children's ministry is an essential and intentional part of the life of the church.  We are committed to enabling and empowering each child to become a Christian with the eyes of their hearts enlightened and with the spirit of wisdom and revelation.  (Ephesians 1:17-18)

Children delight in learning about God, Jesus, the Spirit and Christian values as they develop their own faith stories through music, art and fellowship.  The entire Christian Education experience moves from baptism to confirmation when students claim a personal faith and reaffirm the vows their parents made at baptism.  Grace Church provides youth and adult education so that the "walk with Christ" may continue beyond confirmation.

Infant & Toddler Care

Warm and loving childcare for infants 3 months old up to 3 years old is available upstairs in the Lamb Room from 8:15 to 11:45 a.m., Sunday mornings.

Toddlers (2 & 3 year olds)

These little ones learn about God through a play-centered approach using Bible story books.

Preschool (4 & 5 year olds)

These children learn favorite, age-appropriate stories of the Old and New Testament as they witness the amazing wonders of God's world through the eyes of many faithful servants.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade

This group of children discovers the wonders of God's creation through stories from Genesis and throughout the Old Testament that illustrate the power and love of God.   They also explore the birth and life of Jesus and learn about Jesus' constant presence with his people through the eyes of Peter and Paul.

2nd & 3rd Grades

Children in this class synthesize daily experiences with stories from Genesis, as well as stories about the prophets and about Jesus Christ.  They also look at worship, prayer and the sacraments to help explore their relationship with God and others. Upon entering the third grade, children are given their very own Bible.

4th & 5th Grades

At this age, children focus on the redemptive history of God and God's mighty acts through the study of Joseph, Moses, judges, kings and kingdoms, as well as through the ministry and miracles of Jesus, the resurrection and ascension, and the spread of the gospel from Jerusalem to Rome in the Book of Acts.
